New Computer Lab Assignment


1. Go to http://www.engrade.com/ and log in with your username and password.

2. Check you overall grade and the break down in homework Grade, test grade, and participation grade.

3. Review your previous message that includes your goals for the Second Semester.

4. Based on your current grade write a message to the teacher answering the following questions:

Subject: Goals for Second Marking Period.

a. Evaluate your former goals from the First Marking Period

* Which goals did you achieve? (10 points)
* Which goals didn't you achieve? (10 points)

b. Evaluate your tests, homework, and participation grades

Looking for Extrapoints

Probably you need extrapoint to make up some short grade on a test. Make a comment that responds to the questions about the following problem.

Assignment: Many plants can affect the growth of other plants near them. This can occur when one plant produces a chemical that affects another plant.
Design an experiment to determine if a solution containing ground-up goldenrod plants has an effect on the growth of radish seedlings. In your experimental design be sure to:
1. State a hypothesis to be tested [25 credits]
2. Describe how the experimental group will be treated differently from the control group [25 points]
3. Identify the type of data that will be collected [25 credits]
4. Explain why the number of seedlings used for the experiment should be large [25 points]

Assignment: Design a controlled experiment to determine the effect of hot, dry air on head lice. In your experimental design, be sure to:

1. State the hypothesis to be tested in the experiment [30 points]
2. State one way the control group will be treated differently from the experimental group [30 points]
3. State one result of the experiment that would support the hypothesis [30 points]
4. Spelling and grammar [10 points]

Credits: 100 points toward homework
